Open Signs

March 11th, 2011 Posted in Uncategorized

A paper open sign can be hard to read from a dimly lit street light far away. If you hang an open sign on the door it could get switched to the closed side by a blast of air when the door is opened. A paper sign can be damaged easily and you can forget to turn it around for hours in the morning.

Neon signs are the best option for open signs for any business. They are much better than a paper sign because they can be seen from blocks away. People can know you are open without even getting close up. Depending on the open sign you have, customers can even tell the type of establishment you have by the sign too.

Where you place open signs can make a really big difference. If you have a neon sign it is best to put it in a corner window facing outside. There is no reason to face it in the store because you want the people outside to see you are open. You shouldn’t place it too close to the door itself because you don’t want a lot of traffic by the sign or something to knock into it and break it. When you place your sign in the window of your business you should be sure it has the most visibility possible. This might require you to go outside at night and be sure people from down the street can clearly see your open signs.

Open signs can be very beneficial to any business. You need to be sure you place them in the right location of the business and you use the right type of sign. Paper signs won’t do you any good and they could be harming your venue. Consider going with the neon or the LED.
